"Meeting Tomorrows Challenges Today"

This is your invitation to participate in the Iowa Meat Processor Association 74th Annual Convention and trade Show in Ames, Iowa on February 19-21, 2010.   The educational sessions on Friday will be held at the Iowa State University Meat Laboratory followed by the Exhibitors’ Trade Show opening at 4:30 p.m. at the Gateway Hotel & Conference Center.  The Trade Show hours will be from 4:30 to 7:30 p.m. on Friday and 12:30 to 3:00p.m. on Saturday.  A Hawaiian themed buffet and social with hosted bar will follow the Trade Show.

EDI Decorating Services, Des Moines will have the Exhibit Hall ready for you to set up your displays at 10:30 Friday morning.  They will be sending you a packet for ordering other items.  Should you need to contact them, the number is (515) 263-8435.  The booth rental fee includes a 6’ x 30” skirted table, 2 chairs, waste basket, company sign, and the booths are pipe and drape.  The room has a carpeted floor.  Electrical is included in the fee; however, please state your power needs on the reservation form.

There will be a Silent Auction held in the Exhibit Hall to raise funds for the ISU Meats Judging Endowment Fund.  If you would like to contribute an item to be auctioned off, please feel free to do that but do not consider it an obligation.  If you wish to participate, you may keep the item in your booth or you may add it to those supplied by our plant members.  The auction will close at 2:30 on Saturday.

We would greatly appreciate your company purchasing a sponsorship for the complimentary breakfast on Saturday morning and to help with other entertainment costs for the convention.  If you can, please fill in that portion of the Booth Reservation Form.  Your company will be recognized in the program and at each event.

Please complete the Booth Reservation Form with the Exhibit Hall Lay-out form and return it with your check as soon as possible to the Iowa Meat Processors Association, P.O. Box 334, Clarence, IA   52216.  All booth requests are honored as they are received.  Booth rental is $275 for IMPA members and $400 for non-members per booth.

You will receive a letter confirming your booth reservation assignment early in February prior to the convention.  We look forward to seeing you this year.  We had an excellent Trade Show in 2009 with 41 booths rented and over 55% of our plant members in attendance.  Despite the economy, our processors had been very busy and we hope for excellent participation in our annual conference with the Trade Show being one of the highlights of the event.

It would be wise to make your hotel reservations early.  Our block of rooms will be held until January 22, 2010.  To make reservations, call 1-800-FOR-AMES (1-800-367-2637) and tell them you are with Iowa Meat Processors Association.  The rate for a standard room is $94 plus taxes per night.
